I'm Bogdan Vaida, co-founder of the UAE-based venture capital firm, Iron Capital. I play the role of connector in the crypto sphere, having helped startups secure over half a million in investments. I evaluate pitches daily, identifying the most promising projects to invest in.

As an AI enthusiast, I'm thrilled of the wave we're riding. I've been exploring the potential of AI since GPT-3's launch in 2020 (when it had a political opinion) and Google's Deep Dream Generator in 2019, and I have been especially fascinated by the explosion of AI that happened in November 2022. I did some coding in the field and I've also helped individuals and companies automate their business with the help of AI.

We've just transitioned into the era of AI deployment. Throughout 2022 and the early part of 2023, new large-scale AI models were launched every month. Models such as ChatGPT, Stable Diffusion, Whisper, DALL-E 2 (now 3), and Midjourney are now capable of an increasingly diverse set of tasks. These include task manipulation and analysis, image generation, and remarkably advanced speech recognition and generation. These systems offer unimagined capabilities in question answering and the generation of text, image, and code that were unimaginable a decade ago. However, they are susceptible to hallucinations, tend to exhibit biases, and can be manipulated for malicious purposes, underscoring the complex ethical issues surrounding their deployment.
